Tilos Island and surrounding islets

These rocky islands with rugged coastlines, covered by bushes, maquis and farmland, are an important area for breeding raptors and seabirds. In Tilos, the density of birds of prey is very high, due to the long ban on hunting.

About 600 pairs of Eleonora’s falcon nest in the region.

The area is part of the Natura 2000 network (GR4210024), while part of it is also a Wildlife Refuge.
